Do I need any experience?
None at all. Every class starts from nothing — how to sit at the wheel, how to centre, what clay does when you push it. Most people come having never touched a wheel.
Before your first class
Never touched a wheel? Good — most people walking in haven't. Here's everything people ask us before their first class.

Sixteen and up for classes. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign the waiver — they can do it at the studio. Studio membership is 18 and over. If you have a younger potter in mind, ask us; we can sometimes make it work.
Something you don’t mind getting clay on. We have aprons at the studio, but clay still finds its way to sleeves and shoes, so old clothes are the safe bet. Short nails make wheel work a lot easier, sleeves are worth pushing up, and rings are better off in a pocket.
Not the same day. Finished work has to dry, then go through two firings — once on its own, once after glazing — so it’s a matter of weeks rather than days. We’ll let you know when yours is out of the kiln.
Clay, tools, glazes and firing are part of the class — bring yourself. Try-It is the exception: it’s an hour on the wheel to see how it feels, and the pieces stay with us.
Let us know at least 48 hours before and we’ll refund you in full. Inside 48 hours we’ll do our best to move you to another date instead. Full details are in our Terms.
Yes — when you book, tick “This is a gift” and tell us who it’s for. They’ll sign the waiver when they come in.
No. Nobody’s first pot is good, including ours. The wheel is a skill, not a talent — you get better by sitting at it.
Our studio hours are below — class and open-studio sessions run at their own scheduled times, which are on the booking page.
We're not in the studio full-time, so hours can shift — call, text, or check Instagram before heading over.
If your question isn't here, call, text, or send us a note — we answer every one.
